THE POSITION

Miniclip is looking for a Senior UI Artist to join our Marketing team in our Lisbon (PT) Office. This is a full-time position reporting to the Promo Lead.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
For this role, it’s expected that you work closely with Marketing and Product teams to envision elegant solutions - from concept to prototype to production of the UI for our in-game promotions, as well as developing 2D and 3D assets such as icons and illustrations for use in the games interface. The ideal candidate will have a good balance of visual design and UX design for games and is experienced in both.

You should be able to produce exceptionally polished 2D graphics, menu screens, HUD, branding and additional user interface graphics as required. You should be able to convert information from various sources to design solutions, manage your time effectively and react quickly to changing requirements. It’s expected that you are able to work autonomously while communicating often with all the relevant parties involved in the process.

Together with the Marketing team, you will be focused on information design and execution of complex UI flows, so we can deliver a world class user experience to our consumers.

As a Senior, you will become responsible for key projects, while following the collective team’s vision for the product.

You will: • Work closely with the Marketing & Product Teams to Create concept sketching, wire-framing and highfidelity UI prototypes /mockups; • Experiment, explore and develop a wide variety of game UI styles and assets, for a range of games minimalist casual to sports gaming genres; • Create consistent, user friendly and engaging product experiences and features that engage and delight our customers; • Assist team members in generating ideas and defining requirements through sketches, user journeys, wireframes and final visual designs; • Use research such as surveys, click tests, usability testing and A/B testing in collaboration with the research team to gain deep user insights; • Evaluate customer behaviours/feedback to understand pain points and create new features for our mobile and desktop users; • Collaborate closely with product managers and front-end developers; • Become the owner for key project areas regarding UI/UX design; • Be a strong voice of the customer and e-commerce innovation; • Mentor other Artists whilst working the technical limitations and style guides;

The following skills are essential for the role:

• 5+ years of experience in UI/UX experience, design for mobile apps / games;
• Exceptional understanding of the fundamental graphic design principles (typography, shapes, layout, grid, hierarchy, colour, animation, composition);
• Experience supporting the design process by creating user studies, user flows, wireframes, UI designs, prototypes, annotations and other deliverables;
• Extensive experience in designing interfaces for mobile (iPhone, iPad, Android and Tablets) working on games and features; • Strong illustrative ability and iconography - both freehand and technical 2D vector art skillsets;
• Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator);
• Mastery of wireframing and prototyping tools (ex: Illustrator, Sketch, XD, Proto, Framer, Balsamiq…);
• Experience with eCommerce, mobile or marketplace/community problem solving;
• Ability to quickly grasp new technology, workflows and software;

• Capable of working with others on complex projects, from defining requirements to evaluation of success;
• Detail obsessed and experienced working with and contributing to a shared Design system:
• Proactive, enthusiastic and optimistic— great listening and communication skills;
• Curious about customers and experienced in gathering qualitative and quantitative insights;
• Internally driven and proactive, harbouring a deep passion for establishing and maintaining great user experiences and stunning visual design;
• Well versed in the established standards of e-commerce best practices;
• Highly motivated and passionate about digital games;

Pluses (Optional)
• Experience using Unity UI engine;
• Knowledge of 3D packages for developing rendered icons and 3D UI concept visuals;
• Knowledge of Animation principles and software (After Effects, Spine);
• Experience in 3D software like Cinema 4D, Maya, or 3DS Max;
