We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced trade mark paralegal to join this fun, collaborative and people-first business. The ideal candidate will be proactive, efficient, highly organized, discreet, and very comfortable multi-tasking and juggling multiple priorities. The position is hybrid, two days a week in the office.What You'll Do
- Be the first point of contact for trade mark, copyright, and related Branding/IP matters for our Australian game design studios
- Conduct and analyse global trade mark clearance searches
- Assist global trade mark prosecution in Australia and other jurisdictions including monitoring and review of watch notices
- Support the US Branding team in clearance and prosecution matters as needed
- Conduct and perform analysis of art assets to ensure they comply with our originality and licensing policies
- Data entry into a global IP database
- Process related correspondence, draft documents in response
- Prepare reports to internal business clients with minimal direction
- Under attorney supervision, provide the business with sound, cost-effective and timely legal support for trade mark, copyright, and related Branding matters
- Legal research in relation to all aspects of Branding/Intellectual Property
- Perform administrative duties as needed
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of trademark or copyright specific experience as a paralegal or administrator in a law firm or in-house legal department
- You are curious and enjoy learning
- Ability to work independently
- Are keen to dive in, learn the business and manage your own workload
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Proficiency with trademark clearance software, e.g. Corsearch
- Experience with trademark docketing programs, e.g. CPI or Anaqua
