inXile entertainment is an Xbox Game Studio led by Brian Fargo. We specialize in deep, reactive, and narrative-focused RPGs, but also love exploring other genres. Our studio is filled with passionate developers who love making games, and playing them.
inXile Entertainment is looking for a talented, enthusiastic Senior Tools Engineer to contribute to the studio’s next-generation role-playing game. Working closely with all of the project leaders, the ideal candidate will have a keen eye for improving processes and workflows through tool creation, helping our world-class development team bring their ideas to life.
Responsibilities
- Work with the project and studio leadership teams to design, implement and maintain both standalone and in engine tools.
- Help design and build out a brand new next-generation asset pipeline for use with Unreal Engine 5.
- Participate in hiring, mentoring, and training additional tools engineers as needed.
- Work with multiple disciplines to evaluate workflows and identify areas for improvements
- Analyze, debug, and improve existing tools and Unreal plugins
- Collaborate with other engineers to create efficient and reusable solutions
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience in the video game or related industry
- Expert knowledge of C++ and/or C#
- Strong communication skills and a passion for helping others
- Self-Motivated, capable of defining and driving majority of own workload
- Advanced understanding of artist, designer, and engineer development pipelines
Plusses
- Previous leadership experience
- Professional experience using Unreal Engine 4
- Automation Experiences
- Understanding of UX Design
- Experience with content authoring tools (Maya, Substance, Houdini, etc.)
- Experience with scripting languages (JavaScript, Python, Mel, etc.)
- Experience with SQL databases
- Experience with Azure or other cloud services
