Senior Tools Developer, Metacast

The opportunity

We are looking for an outstanding Senior Tools developer to push the boundaries of what is possible in the world of 3D volumetric industry. You will help build great workflows for volumetric experiences in Unity, including artist-facing interactive tools, and developer-facing APIs, that can unlock creativity on current and future platforms for millions of creators. You will work directly with some of the best graphics and system developers in the world. Mostly meaningfully, you’ll participate in designing and development of tools required to ship the most technologically-impressive real-time experience.

What you’ll be doing

• Work closely with a cross-discipline team of developers and technical artists to design, implement and maintain highly productive authoring tools for crafting volumetric experiences in Unity
• Create intuitive artist-facing interfaces in UIToolkit and Unity’s IMGUI which automate complex 3D content assembly and Unity project setup
• Design powerful and extensible APIs with the backend Unity functionality needed to execute the artist tools
• Help support Metacast Studio as it deploys into real-world broadcast scenarios. Helping to solve unforeseen problems and working with clients to improve the tools and workflow iteratively

What we’re looking for

• Extensive experience with Unity. Including proficiency in C# programming, creating interfaces with UIToolkit or IMGUI, and creation of artist tools/Unity workflows
• Experience developing fast and intuitive UI, tools, and workflows with cloud backends
• Performance-minded development through profiling code and working to shorten/simplify pipeline UI/UX
• Tight-knit collaboration and communication skills with the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and tasks

You might also have

• Extensive experience with Unity’s new UIToolkit system, or similar web development systems
• Extensive experience working with artists unfamiliar with 3D workflows (such as Unity, Unreal, Maya, etc)
• Previous experience with live TV & Broadcast, or media entertainment in general
