Job Description
As a Senior Texture Artist, you will be responsible for creating high-level quality texture maps, supporting maps and engine materials to realize the graphic vision of the game. On this role you will be expected to implement world-class 2D assets to support the project visual intentions in accordance with the art direction, narrative and visual storytelling. The Senior Texture Artist’s performance should be exemplary for the team and the industry. Collaboration with all relevant teams will be key to ensure deployment of industry leading visual results.
Your daily adventure
CREATE AAA QUALITY TEXTURE MAPS, SUPPORTING AND ENGINE MATERIALS
to realize the graphic vision of the game in respect with the technical and artistic constraints
SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT
of memorable visual storytelling with texture assets in line with the project artistic direction
PRODUCE AESTHETICALLY PLEASING RESULTS
using UV layout principles extensively, in line with the project artistic direction and production deadlines
CREATE AND MAINTAIN A TEXTURE AND MATERIAL LIBRARY
following the visual direction of the project
CHOOSE THE BEST SOLUTIONS
and communicate them accordingly to reach the expected quality of optimized textures
COLLABORATE EFFICIENTLY
with Art Director, Lead artists, Environment and Technical teams in order to keep integrity and logic of the game world
MAINTAIN STRONG VISUAL QUALITY
help the team to set and maintain strong visual quality of the project
PLAN, BUILD AND IMPLEMENT
complex artistic assignments with little oversight
IDENTIFY POTENTIAL RISKS AND CHALLENGES
and suggests relevant solutions for the project
PROPOSE AND IMPLEMENT
artistic, gameplay and technical solutions to address production issues
APPLY ARTISTIC AND GRAPHICAL PRINCIPLES
in line with the project’s artistic direction
GUIDE AND MENTOR
other Texture artists in the team
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE
3 + years in a similar role in the game development industry
KNOWLEDGE
Strong understanding of art fundamentals – compositions, shape language, color theory regarding objects
Excellent knowledge of modeling techniques, texture mapping and material creation
Excellent skills in texturing packages - Adobe Photoshop, Substance Designer and Painter ZBrush
Proficiency in modeling packages 3ds Max, Maya or equivalent software
Proficiency of understanding and applying technical constraints and integrating them when modeling
Strong sense of detail, color, lighting value in regard to texture creation and material settings
TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS
Ability to manage your own time and work within deadlines
ABILITY AND DESIRE TO WORK IN A CREATIVE INDUSTRY
and collaborative environment
GAME CULTURE
Passion for games and strong game culture
COMMUNICATION SKLLS
Collaborate effectively with other team members
Ability to absorb, apply and give constructive feedback
Good level of English
