Senior Technical Writer - Riot Game Operations

Riot Games was founded in 2006 by Brandon Beck and Marc Merrill with the intent to change the way video games are made and supported for players. As a Senior Technical Writer on the Riot Game Operations Docs Hub , you will act as a guide for translating technical language, verbiage, and designs into high quality documentation related to various web services, infrastructure systems, and diagrams.

As a Rioter working in the Riot Game Operations team, you'll join a tight-knit team that shares our focus on player experience, rejection of convention and passion for gaming. With general guidance from a team of dedicated, engineering Rioters you will craft awesome content that increases client partner education.

• Independently conduct interviews/ strategy sessions with product owners, engineers, solutions architects, and others to gather information to create and/or edit content
• Take ownership of content for all assigned projects including facts gathering, quality assurance, file organization and management, writing and/or manipulating code samples
• Dedicatedly identify problems and suggest ways to better deliver accurate, complete, and well-written content that all meaningful audience levels understand (technical and non-technical)
• Develop templates and documentation standards and other related repositories and structures as needed

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree in CS or another related technical/ communications field
• 7+ years as a technical writer in the tech industry
• Extensive experience working with technology teams, or within the tech space, to help document processes, procedures, user guides, and diagrams for systems
• Strong project management skills
• You are a pro with Microsoft Office, Google suite and MarkDown HTML text editor
• Validated experience crafting and developing technical content

• Champion of fundamental technical writing disciplines and principles
• Production of deliverables unerringly on schedule with the highest quality possible
• Ability to learn highly technical details quickly
• Understanding of source control systems and maintaining multiple versions of content
• Self-direction, flexibility, and an ability to learn
• Unparalleled writing and communication skills
