Central Technology is looking for a highly motivated Senior Technical Project Manager to join the Dev Ops team . This position will be based in our Zynga Austin Texas studio . The Senior Project Manager will work closely with Engineering, Product Management, Production and game/partner teams to deliver on projects at scale. He / She will need to balance various requirements and constraints, and facilitate tough trade-offs along the way to drive towards a predictable outcome. He / She will also need to be tactical in diving deep into daily execution, proactively spotting areas for improvement, and driving the changes in a collaborative manner that solves confusion, miscommunication and differing expectations. Ultimately, the project manager is accountable for the execution and delivery of the assigned team / projects output.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide senior-level project management for multiple critical engineering projects
- Forecast resource contention and catch over-scheduling issues in advance
- Ability to perform resource-aware Gantt-style project management and discern and track project dependencies
- Strong quantitative abilities within the Jira ticketing system, Epic burndown charts, Velocity tracking methods, and emergent work
- Ability to lead standardization efforts on ticket intake procedures, ticket labeling, and ticket updates to ensure accurate reporting
- Ability to manage multiple backlogs (projects, operations, maintenance) and help the team prioritize tickets each Sprint
- Ability to triage incoming high-priority incidents and orchestrate incident management communication processes
- Synthesize and organize small amounts of work into larger milestones and multi-year efforts
- Maintains awareness of team members’ time off and personal schedules to ensure Sprint planning and forecasting is accurate
- Ability to pivot quickly and update forecasted work and Gantt dependencies based upon new, high-priority initiatives which affect current schedules
- Track record of excellent customer service and ability to maintain positive relationships with a wide variety of internal and external customers
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to distill complex topics into simple summaries
Desired Skills and Experience:
- At least 5+ years of experience in a Project Management role in the tech industry
- 3+ years agile development experience
- Outstanding written/oral, organizational, analytical skills, with strong attention to detail
- Strong stakeholder engagement & project management skills and ability to present work to executive staff
- Involved in project planning, identifies roadblocks and problem solves around them
- Ability to zoom in and zoom out
- Judgement under pressure
- Ability to work in a team environment with maturity, leadership, and calm confidence
- Demonstrated ability to empower and earn the team’s trust
- Must be a self-starter and driven team player
- Proven ability to resolve conflict and strong negotiation skills
- Ability to communicate across diverse cultures, languages, work styles, and personalities
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in the game industry
- Engineering background or Computer science/technical degree
- Project Management certification
- Software experience with Atlassian Jira, Confluence, Google Docs / Sheets / Slides, Miro, Outlook
