The opportunity
Millions of creators harness Unity to reach billions of players and consumers. Unity is accelerating the development and investment in tools and features for Artists, with products such as Weta Digital Tools, Ziva Dynamics, SpeedTree, ArtEngine, and more to be announced, to make the entire process of crafting real-time, interactive graphics, content and experiences more intuitive and accessible to creators and artists.
As a Technical Program Manager within Unity’s Professional Artistry team, you will collaborate with engineering, product management, product design and other groups, supporting the teams in their internal processes, while helping to build a dynamic program management team and improving product velocity. You will maintain links with teams outside Professional Artistry to identify, prioritize and mitigate dependency risks. Ensure delivery to customer requirements, including timing for key customer deliverables.
What you’ll be doing
- Internalize and evangelize Unity’s core values: Users first. Best ideas win. In it together. Go bold!
- Work across teams to keep programs and projects on track by identifying priority risks as early as possible to enable effective mitigation
- Provide and communicate accurate and timely reporting on program status at relevant levels of detail depending upon the audience
- Act as a collaborative force across teams to unify goals, develop teams that work together fluently while driving divergent priorities, processes, and cultures
- Establish relationships with multi-functional teams and senior levels while paving the way for outward communication to be more accessible to the organization
- Working with engineering and product management, create and maintain a plan to achieve the teams’ strategic goals in line with the company mission
What we’re looking for
- Experience in program and project management for software development, working cross functionally within an engineering organization (or equivalent related experience)
- Ability to gracefully handle change in an organization, working with the current of embedded habits rather than fighting against it
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, both written and oral, to speak to a broad audience, internal and external; listening to, speaking with, and resolving differences with subject matter authorities
- Results-oriented, organized and methodical, comfortable dealing with ambiguity
- Demonstrate a proactive, curious mentality; be willing to ask questions, and be willing to dig for your own answers as well – experience encouraging and growing these instincts with your teams
- Familiarity with complex multi-platform technologies and challenges in real-time content application development
You might also have
- Experience using the Unity engine or other 3D real-time engines
- Experience working with distributed teams across multiple time zones
