Title: Senior Technical Designer
Job Description: We're looking for a talented Senior Technical Designer to help us bring the magical world of Xadia to life in our new multiplayer game based on the Emmy® Award-winning Netflix series, The Dragon Prince!
As a Senior Technical Designer, you have the ultimate wombo-combo of passion for game design + strong technical abilities, and are capable of solving challenging gameplay problems with both empathy for our players and expertise of your craft. We're a team of doers, so the ideal candidate will take their ideas all the way from thought bubbles to full implementation in game.
You Will:
- Design, implement, and maintain game content in our proprietary scripting language
- Create, pitch, and implement new content including levels, epic set pieces, and scripted experiences for the player
- Collaborate with other designers to optimize content creation pipelines
- Work extensively in Unreal Blueprints
- Organize and run feedback sessions; coordinate with fellow designers to plan next steps
- Work closely with engineers to stand up and maintain new features
You Are:
- Effective at communicating your ideas and can both provide and implement constructive feedback
- Knowledgeable of cooperative multiplayer gameplay
- Highly collaborative, with the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with other disciplines
- An advocate for internal developers to help solve hard problems and a champion for the players to create an extraordinary game experience
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in a Technical Design or Content Design role.
- Exceptionally strong scripting abilities and deep understanding of state machines
Desired Qualifications:
- Unreal Engine 4 experience
- At least one shipped title in a senior role
The annual base pay range for this position in Los Angeles, California is $90,000 USD - $150,000 USD. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and overall experience. In addition to base pay, all full-time positions will receive equity, flexible PTO, unlimited sick leave, parental leave, a full range of medical, dental, and vision insurance, and relocation support as part of the overall compensation package.
