Are you the technical genius to help bridge the gap between our character/animation team with engineering/DCC?
IO Interactive is looking for a Senior Technical Character Artist to join our technical art team and support with technical needs. Are you specialized in rigging, skinning and creating character creation pipelines and are you ready to provide solutions for animators to achieve high fidelity animations? Then you may be our new senior technical character artist.
We are looking for a technically strong leader, capable of analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of an engine and use it accordingly. We need you to have a strong understanding of performance budgets and limitations for content.
What you will do:- Bridge the gap between character/animation and engineering/DCC
- Skinning of characters
- Tooling processes to help automate character processes.
- Support animation needs
Who you are:- Great understanding of game engines and the technical challenges of development.
- Professional experience with 3D modelling tools including 3ds Max, Maya, and ZBrush.
- Understanding of character rigging and skinning pipelines/workflows.
- Technical Artist who has in-depth knowledge of automation/finding efficiencies in character art pipelines
- Robust technical knowledge of character art pipelines, memory and rendering budgets.
- Strong mediator with the skills to communicate and operate across multiple disciplines.
- Knowledge of modern procedural asset creation techniques such as Houdini & Marvelous Designer & Scanning
- Deep interest in the newest advancements in gaming graphics and visual trends.
- Solid experience as Technical Artist in games development.
We would love it if you had:- Expertise with at least one programming language such as Python and C++.
