THE ROLE
Our studio is looking for a Senior Technical Audio Designer who is incredibly passionate about games and bringing exceptional entertainment to millions of players. As our Sr. Technical Audio Designer, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining our audio systems, improving our pipelines and workflows, and implementing music, sound, and voice content from our internal and external audio teams.

- You have content creation experience but have chosen to specialize in audio implementation and systems design.
- You are a creative problem solver who is always looking for ways to make things better for both the audio team and the player.
- You have a refined audio aesthetic with a keen ear for detail and nuance, but you are always thinking about the player experience and are attentive to the big picture.
- You find reward in sharing knowledge and experience with the audio team and enjoy mentoring less-experienced sound designers in the realm of audio implementation.
- You can work semi-autonomously with minimal supervision but enjoy the collaborative process.
- You are a team player and can work well in a cross-disciplinary way to solve problems.
- You are a great communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
- You are well organized, detail oriented, and adhere to high standards of quality and consistency.
WHAT YOUR DAY MIGHT LOOK LIKE
- Integrating audio content into Wwise and implementing it in Unreal, including BP scripting, animation tagging, environmental authoring, etc.
- Collaborating with the Audio Director, Audio Programmer, and/or other team members to develop and refine our complex audio systems and implementation pipelines.
- Collaborating with Gameplay and Design teams to ensure audio is providing optimal player feedback.
- Playtesting the game to ensure audio quality and to give notes on the overall player experience.
- Documenting, updating, and maintaining audio systems, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- You have a deep knowledge of game audio implementation tools and technologies.
- You have significant Unreal Blueprint or similar visual scripting experience.
- You are a good mixer who understands that mixing is part of the implementation process.
- You have an expert level understanding of Wwise workflows and best practices.
- You have a good understanding of traditional multichannel and emerging virtual surround sound formats and best practices.
- You have a great understanding of audio propagation concepts and environmental audio systems.
- You are proficient with your DAW of choice, e.g., ProTools, Reaper, etc.
- You have professional audio experience working in-house at one or more game studios.
- You have shipped a AAA quality game as an audio designer or technical audio designer.
