Senior Technical Artist - Rigging / Pipeline

As a Senior Rigging/Pipeline Technical Artist, you will be responsible for rigging and skinning characters, and creating workflow tools that improve rigging and animation pipeline in both Maya and Unreal Engine. You will have direct responsibilities for improving Eolodies’ rigging solutions and integrate them with Unreal Engine character rigging solutions. You will also be able to investigate new solutions when required for certain aspects of the art pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and craft technical solutions for real time game art assets
- Work autonomously to assist artists with gameplay prototypes
- Rigging and skinning characters and creatures
- Setup physics and cloth for characters and creatures
- Develop, maintain character setup and animation solutions
- Character performance monitoring
- Create documentation for tools and workflows
- Consistently communicate with the team by giving and receiving feedback
- Partner with other artists, designers, and engineers to collaborate on creative solutions to solve complex art pipeline problems
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of industry experience in a Technical Artist role
- Solid understanding of Python programming
- Deep understanding of rigging and deformation solutions
- Experience with physics and simulation setup
- Skill and a passion for authoring scalable and performant art solutions
- Deep understanding of game art pipelines and shared workflows
- Experience with a modern game engine
- Able to effectively collaborate with every department of a game development team
- Passion for games, particularly multiplayer games
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience developing auto-rigging solutions and character tools
- Experience with Unreal Engine 4
