Led by Dead Space and Call of Duty franchise veteran Glen Schofield, a new AAA development studio has risen within the San Ramon Hills of the San Francisco Bay Area. Striking Distance Studios is looking for an experienced Technical Artist with a focus on shaders and materials to help create a new next generation AAA experience.
Responsibilities:
- Write performant shaders that support PBR and Photogrammetry workflow.
- Help establish and troubleshoot art creation and material pipelines.
- Help define budgets and audit in-game shader performance.
- Help artists to ensure that material assets are authored correctly.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years in game development.
- Shipped one game with Unreal.
- Shipped one game in a PBR art pipeline.
- Strong knowledge of Photogrammetry pipeline.
- Strong knowledge of Digital Content Creation suite such as Maya, Substance, Photoshop, and Houdini
- Strong knowledge of Shading language such as HLSL, GLSL..
- Experience creating tools for artists.
- Intermediate skill with Python, Qt for Python.
- Familiarity with game performance evaluation tools.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Strong problem solving and trouble-shooting skills.
- Experience with C++ is a plus.
