Senior Technical Animator & Rigger

Animation is the bread and butter for bringing life to the characters in our games. This is the core of what we do and we’re interested in tech animators who are capable of bringing techniques that will allow us and the animation team to bring these characters to life.

Responsibilities:

• Develop technical animation / rigging pipelines and tools.
• Design, build and maintain character rigs and setups.
• Create facial rigs with a high degree of fidelity.
• Build automated rig setups.
• Work with character artists, designers and engineers to get the most out of our character rigs.
• Mentor and train other technical animators and animators.
• Work in Unreal Engine to improve the animation blueprint and procedural animation pipelines.
• Create, define & adjust best practices for anyone using rigs you (or your team members) create.
• Identify and address optimizations and efficiencies within the animation pipeline
• Collaborate with other discipline leads ensuring animation solutions meet the requirements of specific projects
• Research new technologies, innovations and processes
• Proactively resolve technical animation issues

Requirements:

• 1-2 games shipped using Unreal Engine 4 or equivalent technical animation experience (shipped titles in this role preferable).
• Proper understanding of the animation process and pipeline.
• Experience rigging and skinning complex characters in Maya.
• Scripting and tool creation in python/mel.
• Strong understanding of the rigging and animation pipeline for characters.
• Experience with Unreal Engine's Animation Blueprints and Control Rig.
• Technical Animation Demo Reel and / or portfolio.
• Passion for animation, video games, and comedy.
