Senior Tax ConsultantSummary
The Tax Senior will work with the members of Aristocrat’s Group Tax Team, and the broader Aristocrat business, to ensure Aristocrat’s tax obligations are well managed. This will include working across US Corporate, Partnership and International Tax issues.
The principle focus of the role will be Aristocrat’s tax obligations for the US. However, given Aristocrat’s global nature, the role will include interactions with other regions, particularly members of the Group Tax Team based in Australia.
The Tax Senior will collaborate with colleagues across Group Finance, other areas of the Aristocrat business, and Aristocrat’s external advisors, to manage the day-to-day tax compliance obligations as well as ad-hoc tax issues as they arise. They will also be involved with larger tax projects, or projects requiring tax input, as and when they arise.What you'll do
What you will do
- Prepare and maintain deferred tax inventory for IFRS and ASC740 reporting
- Prepare half year and annual tax provision
- Support continuous improvements in tax provision processes, including collaboration with other members of the business
- Prepare and assist with federal and state income tax compliance and reporting
- Prepare and maintain computation of book tax differences, supporting workpapers, account reconciliations and documentation
- Prepare tax accruals, budgets and forecasts
- Provide support for external financial statement audits and federal and state income tax audits, as applicable
- Other duties and special tax projects as assigned
- Support the Tax Team and the Aristocrat business with ad-hoc tax issues as they arise
- Work with the Tax Team to continuously improve processes and policies
- Liaise with our advisors and tax authorities in respect of tax matters
What we're looking for
What we would like you to know
- Tax technical skills – corporate, and state income tax a must, other areas such as partnership tax viewed favorably
- Ability to prepare tax provision calculations and a general understanding of tax accounting principals under ASC740, (IFRS a plus, but not required).
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience with operating the Microsoft suite of office applications (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- OTP and OIT experience a plus, but not required.
What we would like you to have done
- BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
- CPA certification or equivalent preferred, but not required
- Minimum of 3 years of corporate tax provision and compliance experience with Big 4 or National Firm and/or corporate tax department
