Are you the type of programmer who enjoy the "run" part of development the most?
Would you like a role where you support the whole studio and players by creating all kinds of systems that will ensure a smoooooth gaming experience?
Are you a collaborative and humble person who enjoy mentoring others and like improving processes and automation?
Then you should join our squad and be part of building the systems for our very first competetive FPS!
Oh, and we put hybrid work first:
- Work from our office in Stockholm (Södermalm)? Good
- Work remote from anywhere in Sweden? Also good
- Work some days at the office and some days remote? Still good

Your role is about engineering with a view of the project as a whole. As the game evolves, new systems and tools will be needed and that's where you come in. Together with your Systems Engineer colleagues your challenge is to improve how the game works under the hood, as well as creating the tooling around the game.
We work with one-week sprints, with the game playable at all times, and we make formal releases every week.
As a senior member you are also expected to guide, nurture and mentor team members, collaborate with other crafts and be proactive in how we work. There will probably always be more than one alternative to the solutions we're building and the connected discussions regarding "how" and "why" we build those solutions, is something you enjoy diving into.
Your player profile
Perhaps you are currently working inhouse at another studio or maybe you are a consultant/freelancer ready to join the industry in a permanent role, either way we want you to be a humble and open person, passionate about gaming.
We believe that you truly enjoy to collaborate with people from different crafts to understand what tools and systems are needed to create an epic gaming experience. And of course, to come up with and develop those solutions together with your delightful team.
- 5+ years experience from the gaming industry, building (and hopefully releasing) awesome games
- C/C++ is home base
- Experience with the Unreal engine; both the engine itself and common subsystems (physics, animation etc.), including functional as well as performance and resource management aspects
- A good understanding of computer hardware and how to write performant high-level code
- Fluent in English
Expected from all:
Note that we have a zero-tolerance policy for toxic behavior at Fall Damage. We value diversity and take joint responsibility for creating an inclusive and accepting environment where all voices are heard.
Ready to level up? Come join us!
At Fall Damage we believe in potential and diversity, so in other words we really like to get to know YOU. Be yourself and tell us why you are into gaming and/or tech and what parts you actually enjoy doing in your role. Have link to some cool stuff on GitHub or smimilar? Feel free to include it!
What about relocation?
If you're an EU-citizen authorized to work in Sweden, we're all for it! We handle relocations on a case-by-case basis, but will be able to assist with the most important part, which is finding a home for you. Unfortunately we don't have the capability to offer work-permit solutions for non-EU citizens at the moment, something we hope to be able to provide as we grow in the future.
