What will you be doing?
We're looking for someone to research for the appropriate hardware to improve our Core VR experience. If you like VR, this is probably the most fun job you can imagine. In this role, you’ll be responsible for:
Research and implement the new hardware: You'll be responsible for researching and testing things like routers, wireless devices, microphones, gaming headsets, VR Headsets, Server PCs and even cable / adapter to improve the quality and the stability of our user experience.
Mini data center solution: You'll be responsible for designing the infrastructure of the backend system. It is kind of a mini data center in every single store to provide the scalable and reliable service.
Operation and supply chain: You'll be also required to work with operation team to find the alternative hardware solution in different country and provide the user manual of each hardware to the user.
Proprietary Hardware: You'll also work with Product design team and electronic engineer to build and implement our proprietary hardware.
Who are we looking for?
- We're looking for someone who are graduated in computer engineering or computer science. At least 6 years IT related working experience especially in Networking field.
- You can work independently and own the entire hardware integration flow which include researching, procurement, integration, testing, issue support and work with provider to figure out the solution.
- You’ll also directly provide input into our development or retail environment, including our network performance and infrastructure. We’d love for you to share your experience and decisions with our team so we can all learn from them.
- We’re making the holodeck real at Sandbox VR. We expect this to be a very competitive market, which means we have to innovate as a team. You should be open to researching and solving completely new technology challenges nobody has solved before.
How can you really impress us?
- If you've been a electronic engineer, we are interested to know how do you contribute your knowledge to improve our proprietary hardware design and the reliability of other electronic equipment.
- If you’ve been a software team lead, we’d love to hear about your leadership philosophy and experience. We’re still early and it’s important that we acquire a strong engineering culture from our senior engineers as we grow our team.
- Outside of your job, it would be a huge plus if you’ve done engineering work with cutting edge technologies as a hobby, such as VR/AR/MR, robotics / drones, or any other hardware. We have plans to work with all of these technologies as we grow our holodeck platform.
