Senior Strategist

ustwo NYC is looking for a talented Senior Strategist to join our US team, based in New York.
We are looking for top talent to guide our client portfolio and strategic services as we continue to set new standards and define new experiences. Our work spans digital products and games, a wide array of existing platforms and emerging technologies, and a diverse set of clients.
The Role
As a successful Senior Strategist at ustwo, you’ll get your hands dirty tackling new and challenging problems. You will be relied upon to provide strategic insight and direction, often in the context of incomplete information, with an emphasis on defining asks as well as finding answers. You will work side by side with designers and technologists to ideate, build, and iterate on solutions for our industry-leading clients and partners.
This role will help to set the standard for our strategic services in the US. Working closely with your line manager, the Principal Strategist, you will have the opportunity to shape how strategy, design, and technology come together to create highly innovative and deeply impactful digital experiences.
Expectations
- Provide strategic direction to clients and project teams, identifying opportunities, articulating user and business needs, defining actionable visions, and collaborating on solutions.
- Play an integral role in leading discovery and definition processes, guiding ideation with insights and ensuring the end product meets and exceeds client goals and objectives.
- Work closely with clients and colleagues to ensure all activities and deliverables drive towards a shared definition of success.
- Work with designers and technologists to validate strategy via prototyping, marrying the best of product’s iterative process with a more traditional vision-led approach.
- Lead activities such as client workshops, kickoffs, stakeholder interviews, and briefings.
- Apply qualitative and quantitative research techniques to distill actionable insights.
- Communicate strategic recommendations to internal and external audiences with varied levels of understanding.
- Lead internal workshares and insight sessions.
- Represent ustwo at external industry events and workshops.
Requirements
- The ability to tell a compelling and clear story, backed by insights, through both written artifacts and oral presentation.
- The ability to understand, taxonomize, and synthesize clients’ core challenges and opportunities.
- The ability to articulate engagement goals throughout design and development.
- The ability to proactively guide and collaborate with design and tech counterparts.
- The ability to understand and shape the role that new technologies play in people’s lives.
- Experience with end-to-end digital product design and development.
- Experience in business planning and business case development.
- Experience in leading and conducting user research.
Your outputs will include:
- Internal and client workshop exercises (including planning, creation, and facilitation)
- Success criteria (to define user and business goals as well as product KPIs)
- Design briefs (to build alignment and excitement among internal and client teams)
- Vision statements and value props (for products, platforms, and businesses)
- Learning agendas and research plans (including primary and secondary research)
- Research hypotheses, analyses, and syntheses (across users, products, businesses)
- User testing programs (including planning, moderation, and synthesis)
- User personas and journey maps (including functional and emotional needs)
