The Opportunity
On the XR Workflows team, we are bringing Unity's powerful authoring tools to bear on the next generation of games and 3D apps running in new and innovative platform environments. We're looking for highly technical individuals who will write C# code daily across a wide range of areas, with a focus on Unity Editor UX engineering.
Our team is small but growing, and combines a startup mentality with the quality-of-life and balance of a more established company. As soon as you join, we'll quickly bring you up to speed. You'll dive into implementing features, designing systems, providing feedback to others, and soliciting the same. We interact with partners and customers often, and you will see your work used very quickly. As we continue to grow, you will have an opportunity to mentor others, improve your own skills and learn new areas, and grow your career along with the team.
We're already helping developers build things that haven't been done before, but we have even bigger aspirations. If you seek to push the technical envelope, are willing to roll up your sleeves and jump into diverse areas, and want to have an enormous impact on both Unity and the industry, XR @ Unity should be the next stop in your career!
What you’ll be doing

- Supporting various XR feature subsystems through user experience improvements, working closely with multiple XR package teams
- Collaborating closely with Design, QA, Product, and other roles
- Collaborating with other teams within R&D to help bring cohesive and user friendly experiences to our users
- Working individually or within a small group to solve architectural challenges in a novel technical environment
What we’re looking for
- Fearless attitude and willingness to jump in to unfamiliar areas
- Advanced C# development experience
- Passion and technical experience building developer-oriented tools
- Experience collaborating with Designers, User Researchers, and users directly
- Familiarity with a range of 3D technology - for example, graphics, netcode, authoring tools, animation, physics, script interpreters, etc.
- Passion for performance, code analysis, and debugging tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships with global stakeholders
You might also have
- Experience building Unity Editor extensions
- Experience creating Unity games
- Experience building pipeline tools to support a development team
- Experience developing middleware or other real-time 3D software
