The opportunity
The Unity Cloud DevOps Version Control team is looking for a Senior Engineer to help us take the very heart of our already very cool source control engine to the next level. We are creating the next-generation version control and CI/CD solutions for real-time 3D. We need engineering leaders with vision who can creatively solve problems in novel ways and push the boundaries of how Unity customers will deliver their realtime 3d products to the world. We want to solve the problems our customers are facing today as well as the ones they haven’t even thought about yet.
At Unity, we believe the world is better with more creators in it. Creators of code. Crafters of 3d models. Makers of fun. Movers of emotion. So we craft outstanding tools for all these creative roles. We give them the solutions to creating.
Performance and scalability are our watchwords. When someone trusts their code and art to Unity Cloud DevOps Version Control, we take that seriously. We ensure their materials are at their fingertips and protect it, so they can focus on what they do best.
What you will be doing
- Own, design and deliver high-performance server, client-side and cloud code. This means storage, dealing with different operating systems, network, algorithms and more. You’ll never get bored.
- Work within an agile, established and highly capable team of engineers, designers, product managers and others all driven by the Unity values of “Users First” and “In It Together” to solve valuable problems for our customers
- Mentor, guide and grow more development geniuses
What we’re looking for
- Proven coding skills
- Professional experience working with C# (C/C++ and Java also welcome, although most of our code C#)
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices for the full development life cycle (coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, operations, etc.)
- Some experience mentoring engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective
- Good debugging and optimization skills (you’re familiar with profilers, finding memory leaks and greatly optimizing code)
You might also have
- A great curiosity for how the .NET framework works (GC, Span, optimizations)
- Confirmed DevOps and version control experience (Git, Plastic SCM, Perforce)
