The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for analyzing, developing, and evaluating large-scale, complex applications and systems. This person will research, interpret, and develop solutions to resolve problems and create product features. The Senior Software Engineer has broad knowledge, in-depth expertise, writes documentation, and will mentor other programmers.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with team members to design, implement and test well-engineered, reliable, maintainable, and scalable applications and systems
- Suggest new ideas, concepts, and provide feedback
- Develop, document, and participate in code reviews
- Participate in planning process, and mentor other engineers
- Identify technical and developmental risks/obstacles and generate solutions
- Follow and learn best practices, processes, and systems standards
- Collaborate on development with external partners
- Other related duties as assigned
Requirements- Bachelor’s in Software Engineering, CS, or equivalent professional experience
- 5+ years engineering experience in game development
- Strong C++ knowledge and experience
- Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask requirements and feedback gathering across disciplines, assess risk, define priorities, and resolve problems while meeting deadlines
- Excellent critical and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
Preferences- Game development experience, specifically MMO and/or console
- C#, PHP, and Lua experience
- Windows and Linux development experience
