Senior, Software Engineer, Real-Time Streaming

Magic Leap is looking for a multimedia and network technologies expert to expand its WebRTC team. We are looking for an exceptionally talented senior programmer who is interested in helping to develop the next generation of spatial computing platforms.
Responsibilities
- Architect, refactor and maintain real time streaming pipelines and features
- Design, write, debug and refine streaming systems, features, tools and infrastructure as needed
- Work with other streaming engineers in developing applications
- Evaluate and understand the intentions of the projects, document development needs and assess technical feasibility
- Suggest improvements whenever necessary by designing and implementing new systems
- Collaborate with other teams to establish constraints and communicate the technical possibilities of the various needs
- Validate the performance by automating performance and setup test cases
- Identify and triage bugs
- Document work, create technical documentation as needed
- Contribute to department best practices and guidelines
Requirements
- Advanced understanding in C/C++
- Understanding of audio video codecs
- Hardware accelerated audio and video experience
- Good knowledge of network and streaming protocols including: webrtc, websockets and rest APIs
- Advanced understanding of high performance, networking and low latency communication frameworks
- Strong multi-threading experience
- A demonstrable willingness to develop software engineering process and application production skills
- BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field
- 4+ years experience in relevant industry
Bonus skills
- Experience with C# and Unity
- Experience with Android development
- Console or mobile development experience
- AR/VR or spatial computing development experience
Education
- Bachelor/Master's degree in Computer Science or relevant field or equivalent experience
