Backend Engineer (Games)

We are looking for a passionate Backend Engineer (Games) who is excited to architect and implement technology, services and infrastructure that empower Good Job Games!

What you'll be doing

In this role, you will conceptualize and build multiplayer game distributed backend servers that provide various services which are highly available, have high throughput and low latency. You will be working with teams that own Good Job Games' live game operations (LiveOps). With a Live Ops approach to game management, you will help to maintain a dedicated player community through promotions, in-game events, keeping players entertained, unlocking new player retention strategies, and generating recurring revenue streams. We collaborate to bring out the best in each other. You will join with the hard working engineers on critical systems and you’ll have an opportunity to both learn, teach and grow yourself.

Why it matters

LiveOps services are mainly used by our Casual games and it helps their product teams to bring fun to billions of people worldwide. You’ll be in the driving seat and you’ll help build one of the best universal entertainment titles for Good Job Games.

Desired skills and experiences

• 3+ years of experience
• Experience in designing, implementing and maintaining highly scalable backend architectures
• Familiarity with Golang is a plus
• Experience with AWS Services (DynamoDB, ElastiCache, ECS, CDK, CloudFormation)
• Familiarity with ELK stack for log management is a plus
• Familiarity with EKS is a plus
• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases is a plus
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as Github Actions, AWS CodePipeline
• B.S. or higher in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience)
