Senior Software Engineer, Gameplay

Do you love making games? Blizzard Entertainment is looking for a senior gameplay engineer for an unannounced title. Specifically, we need someone with experience with in-game camera design and combat systems who is willing to get into the details and work with colleagues to explore game feel and moment to moment experience. Any broader knowledge and familiarity with other gameplay systems, like AI, pathing, animation, and client/server replication, would also be beneficial.
Working alongside a small team from various disciplines, you will be instrumental in roughing out our first prototypes. We will iterate, fail, and try new things as we establish the code, culture, and character of the engineering on the project. So, what are you waiting for?
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with designers and artists to implement prototypes of core gameplay mechanics.
- Work on core gameplay systems, including camera, combat abilities, attributes, and AI.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated success prototyping games or early bootstrapping game projects.
- C++ programming experience in a team environment.
- Experience using a modern commercial game engine (Unreal, Unity, Frostbite, etc.)
- Demonstrated knowledge of various game systems including cameras and combat systems.
Pluses:
- Shipped at least one game.
