Your role on this unannounced project will give you the chance to build core technologies from almost the ground up to drive the project’s entire development process, with ample room for career growth. You will help create the technical vision for a burgeoning gameplay team that will drive best-in-class gameplay, art, and audio experiences. When particularly hard problems arise, you'll collaborate with fellow members of the team and project leadership to define and implement a technical vision that meets the project's needs.

COVID-19 Hiring Update: We’ve transitioned to a work-from-home model and we’re continuing to interview and hire during this time. This role is expected to begin as a remote position. We understand each person’s circumstances may be unique and will work with you to explore possible interim options.

What you’ll do…

• Empower designers, artists, and other engineers to deliver the vision of the game and ensure we delight and entertain our players
• Leverage your experience and knowledge to develop a broad array of gameplay systems, from end to end and within constraints of game simulation
• Collaborate with content creators and engineers on gameplay teams to learn and understand their needs and offer technical solutions
• Optimize team productivity by supporting content creation pipelines, tool development, and workflow improvements
• Build positive relationships, actively and enthusiastically seek out and offer help, code reviews, and advice
• Mentor others in gameplay development
• Champion Blizzard’s core values, especially “Gameplay First”

To succeed you must have…

• The ability to understand and write effective C# code
• The capacity to make frequent, readable, well-tested code commits
• Communication skills for sharing ideas clearly, learning from others, and giving meaningful feedback
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
• Experience collaborating with content creators (designers, animators, artists)
• Mentorship mindset and excellent attitude to helping others level up their knowledge

We’d love it if you also have…

• Passion for ARPG /RPG/MMO/RTS games and gameplay development, especially moment-to-moment experience
• Experience with the Unity platform
• Experience supporting and shipping online AAA game titles
• iOS and/or Android development experience
• Computer science, mathematics, physics, or related degree
