Scopely is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Gameplay) to join us remotely from the US!

Scopely is building an exciting AAA multiplayer action game for consoles, PC, and mobile, using Unreal 5. We believe this stylized fantasy project has the potential to be massive in scale and industry-defining!
What You Will Do
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play an instrumental part in creating an exciting new fantasy IP to be played by millions of PC, console, and mobile gamers. Both subject matter specialists (AI, systems, optimization, etc) as well as skilled generalists are encouraged to apply. You will be working with an experienced AAA team to design, implement, and launch this new game. Design, develop, and deploy gameplay and server features for multi-million user games
- Work closely with feature owners, the game design team, and other development teams to implement new features and pipelines
- Drive the implementation of online game mechanics and system processes using Unreal Engine 5 and C++
- Collaborate and communicate with cross-functional departments including: game design, QA, etc.
- Mentor, teach, and participate in a strong engineering team and culture
- Contribute to technical plans and schedules, discussing workflows and requirements with stakeholders
What You Will Need
- 5+ years as part of a game development team or other relevant area
- Experience with Unreal Engine 4 or 5
- Proficiency with C/C++, data structures, algorithms
- Professional attitude and ability to take and give constructive feedback
- Enjoy solving complex technical problems, especially in large systems
- Willingness to mentor others, write maintainable code, learn and use new technologies
- Ability to communicate and share knowledge with non-technical people
Bonus Points
- Done development on consoles, and/or mobile devices
- Experience with multiplayer games
- Comfortable with asynchronous and multi-threaded programming paradigms
- Technical curiosity in trying new things
- A love for creating rich player experiences, collaborating with a talented team, and games!
For candidates in CA, CO, NJ, NY and WA, the annual salary range is $112,500 - $185,600, plus equity, bonus and benefits including healthcare benefits, retirement benefits, pet insurance, paid holidays, paid Scopely free days, and unlimited paid time-off. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
