We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our growing team! Are you ready to put your ideas into the next generation of games that will be played instantly by millions?
As a Senior Software Engineer at Gram Games, you will play a key role in designing and developing online features that enhance the experience for our player community. Working closely with the gameplay teams, you will be responsible for implementing new online functionality, as well as maintaining and improving existing systems. The tools, features, and systems you develop will be essential to our ability to deliver highly scalable and available online experiences.
Your role will involve collaborating with the game services team to design and build robust back-end solutions that support online gameplay. With your expertise in game backend systems and scalable infrastructures, you will help drive innovation and ensure the smooth operation of our online services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement new online features to enhance player experience.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues efficiently to maintain uninterrupted service.
- Design and build frameworks to support scalable online features.
- Write high-quality, well-structured code with a focus on performance and maintainability.
- Collaborate with teams to define specifications and requirements for new systems.
- Participate in the architectural design of backend solutions, ensuring scalability and robustness.
- Conduct code reviews, providing valuable feedback to teammates.
- Prepare thorough documentation for systems and processes.
- Take ownership of projects, resolving challenges from concept to deployment.
- Work closely with other teams to gather feedback and improve the product lifecycle.
- Establish key metrics to monitor system performance and ensure tracking is in place.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on backend systems in the game industry.
- Proven experience shipping products in a collaborative team environment.
- Proficiency in backend development technologies such as Go, C++, Java, and Bash scripting.
- Strong experience with database systems like PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
- Familiarity with version control tools like Git.
- B.Sc. in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Excellent communication skills, with proficiency in English (written and spoken).
Desired Skills:
- Experience with C# and Unity for game development.
- Proficiency in Go for backend systems.
- Experience with network programming, including WebSockets.
- Knowledge of unit testing, CI/CD pipelines, and backend integrations.
- Expertise in building scalable and highly available systems.
- Familiarity with the Nakama game server framework.
