We are seeking a Senior Audio Engineer to author audio systems and tools for our project. As an audio engineer on our project, we will ask you to embrace and foster Blizzard’s core value of “Gameplay First” through collaboration with art, design, engineering, sound, and production to create robust and compelling audio gameplay experiences.

Location flexible
This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Albany, NY, or Irvine, CA.
We need help with
- Partnering with design, engineering, and audio team members to implement new and improve existing audio tools
- Actively contributing to cross-team audio tools and runtime development
- Partner with sound designers, game engine engineers, and gameplay engineers to help define generalized engine audio requirements and assist with the implementation
- Authoring documentation and communicating best practices and technical constraints of the audio systems and tools to engineering and content creation team members
- Participating in code reviews and discussions with other engineers on the team
What you are good at
- 8+ years experience, or equivalent education/work experience
- Programming game audio systems on AAA games
- Writing fluent C++ code with advanced knowledge of both historical patterns and modern language features
- Excellent spoken and written communications skills
- Understanding of game content pipelines and audio tools such as FMOD or Wwise
- Audio signal processing, knowledge of mixing, sample rates, data compression, filters, reverbs, 3D positional audio, etc.
Extra awesome points for
- B.S. (or higher) degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Music and/or Sound design experience - composing/arranging, sound design, synthesis, sampling, MIDI sequencing, audio engineering/mixing, digital audio workstations, etc.
- Proven experience shipping games on multiple platforms
- Strong math skills (linear algebra, trig, etc.)

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $101,000.00 - $186,754.00 Annual. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
