THE STUDIO
Carbonated is a games studio founded in 2015 by industry veterans who’ve built and run some of the biggest games in the world at companies like EA, Sony, Zynga and Blizzard. Our aspiration is to build a company where people want to spend their entire careers.

Right now we’re fortunate enough to be working on our own game called MadWorld, a real-time multiplayer battler (with squad tactics and RPG like gear, abilities & weapon upgrades) with a few fun twists!
THE ROLE
Our studio is pioneering new methods to blend AI and gameplay, and we are looking for a strong Software Engineer to drive first-of-its-kind gameplay experiences to thrill our players!
You are absolutely obsessed with making a game fun! You love to collaborate very closely with designers, artists, and other engineers to quickly iterate on & build out new and engaging features around a squad-based tactical game. Think: Abilities! Weapons! Interactions and events!
You will play an integral role in the development and innovation around gameplay mechanics and other modes of play alongside our design teams, constantly incorporating new features and ideas into the game.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build: Work closely with the design team to iterate and develop gameplay mechanics in addition to other client-side game features and systems
- Raise the Engineering Bar: Participate in Code Reviews, develop and teach game-development best practices, and mentor more junior developers
- Learn: Research games, and develop innovative prototypes, technologies, gameplay ideas, etc.
- Push and Challenge: Everyone. Juniors, mid-levels, seniors, and ... beyond
WHAT'S REQUIRED
- Above all else, making games is your jam
- Working knowledge of C/C++
- Experienced in Object-Oriented Software Design & Implementation
- Experience with native engines: Unreal, CryEngine, Lumberyard and/or other proprietary engines
- Strong math skills with emphasis on 3D Math/Linear Algebra
- Capable of collaborating across different disciplines to design & implement effective solutions
- Ability to own a project from beginning to end
- Proficient in Agile/Scrum development
