Your Mission
The Senior Software Development Engineer is responsible for creating new tools and reports to improve automation testing of games and applications within Activision. The role involves writing specifications, designing, building, testing, implementing applications as well as maintaining those applications after release using the languages and tools available. Work with, mentor and provide technical leadership to other programmers on the team to develop new applications with overall efficiency, reuse and automation as the guiding principles.
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Work on projects including database driven web applications, website enhancements, desktop applications, and efficiency automation projects.
- Work within a team environment to address the programming needs of management and other teams within Activision.
- Document and comment code thoroughly for ease of understanding for your peer programmer.
- Participate in the planning process, programming and creation process with management and the client to release bug free tools and applications.
- Build tools using which ever programming languages are necessary to complete the project, learn any languages that you don’t know to complete the project.
- Responsible for working on many projects simultaneously as directed by management.
- Review, analyze, and modify programming-related systems including documenting, designing, developing, testing, monitoring, and maintaining programs as specified by management.
- Participate in review and company meetings concerning projects and programs.
- Document work-time and processes as specified by management.
- Responsible for meeting set goals and deadlines as determined by management.
- Communicate effectively with clients in a courteous and respectful manner.
Player Profile
Educational Requirements:
- At least a Bachelor’s degree preferably in a computer-related field (computer science/programming) or engineering
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 7 years of experience
- Advanced knowledge of standards-based programming languages including but not limited to C#, Python
- Advanced knowledge of database query languages including but not limited to T-SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
- The ability to use the front-end and back-end languages to create a feature rich and polished application
- Experience with Microsoft operating systems
- Experience with JIRA and Agile management
- Experience with Git, GitHub or Gitlab
- Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications
- Above average written and verbal communications skills
Extra Points:
- Experience with mobile development
- Advanced knowledge of standards-based programming languages including but not limited to HTML5, XHTML, JavaScript, CSS.
- Experience with testing desktop and web-based applications.
- Experience with Linux operating systems.
