Amazon Games is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer who will drive innovation and engineering excellence for a multidisciplinary group of engineers. Our team is focused on delivering tools and services to empowering the quality assurance, localization, and publishing teams in Amazon Games. Amazon is customer obsessed and in our modern quality assurance approach for the games development we believe this involves learning how our customers play our games through data and analytics to proactively identify discover issues.

We are looking for a seasoned engineer with a track record of building tooling to support partner teams. This is an innovative development position where you will have the creative freedom to apply a wide range of software design practices to deliver tools and services that are force multipliers for our quality assurance, localization, and publishing teams. Please note: this role is open to candidates in either Irvine, California, Seattle, Washington, or other Amazon Games locations that can work Pacific hours.

Key job responsibilities
As a senior software development engineer you can expect to help mentor and develop team members with technical guidance. You are a champion for engineering excellence and will provide experienced feedback for code reviews and design documents. We are an agile multidisciplinary team and your expertise will assist with population, prioritization, and execution of a team backlog while personally tackling critical engineering problems.

About the team
The Amazon Games Automation, Tools, and Insights (ATI) team is a multidisciplinary team focused on building tools and services to empower the Amazon Games quality assurance, localization, and publishing teams. There is a mix of software development, quality assurance, and business intelligence engineers leveraging engineering infrastructure, telemetry and analytics to improve the effectiveness of our partner teams.

Basic Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field with 5+ year relevant experience.
· 4+ years of professional software development experience
· 3+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
· 2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience working with AWS big data technologies (Redshift, Comprehend, QuickSight, ML, and AWS Glue)
· Experience with AWS primitives such as Lambda, API Gateway, IAM, and S3.
· Knowledge of software engineering best practices across the development lifecycle, including agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source management, build processes, testing, and operations.
· Proven success in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe data modeling decisions and data engineering strategy.
· Experience with modern game development tools like Unreal Engine, Unity, or Open 3D Engine.
· Quality assurance experience, familiar with test frameworks and test case management systems.
