The Nitty Gritty:
Big Viking Games is on the hunt for a Senior Software Developer to join our Platform, Tools and R&D team at our Toronto or London, ON studio.
The Duties:
- Architecting and building core game services
- Writing and maintaining scalable services
- Working with game teams, developing asset pipelines
- Building and maintaining tooling to speed up development and content creation, as well as drive game analysis
- User performance profilers to improve existing code
- Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to other developers
- Researching new technologies for use in games
The Essentials:
Must Haves:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering is strongly preferred
- 4+ years of game development experience
- Shipped multiple features, tools, or projects in a live environment
- Experience with management of databases
- Good knowledge of CI/CD
- Pick up new languages and technologies quickly
Nice to Haves:
- Experience building game services is a plus
- Experience with shipping and maintaining mobile products
- Analytics platforms work
