Senior Software Developer, Digital Twins

The opportunity

Unity is building a new Digital Twin consulting group to service the growing needs of our clients! You'll be working with clients in the Architecture, Construction, Engineering, Energy, Automotive, Telecommunications, Retail, and Manufacturing sectors on both short and long term engagements helping them solve problems and optimize their code for Unity and the domain.

Our team has an opportunity for software developers who love to share their expertise with customers and help them achieve their performance targets. If you're communicative, technically skilled and curious, this job will suit you!

Your day-to-day work will include interacting with customers, learning to master various Unity functionalities, interacting with our R&D teams and profiling projects. You'll also work with more junior developers sharing your knowledge and providing mentorship.

Eager to learn more about the latest technologies? We regularly allocate time for training and performing personal research and encourage you to deliver trainings and help guiding Unity's direction by collaborating and giving crucial feedback to our internal teams. You'll also spend time working closely with our Digital Twins product teams so the work will be varied!

This role may involve periodic travel to customer and other Unity offices, primarily within North America and usually during weekdays. You will be asked to travel either very occasionally or up to 30% of the time depending on your interests and responsibilities.

What you'll be doing

• work with customers on a regular basis for short or long term consultations and give them advice on how to resolve their performance issues and improve their existing workflows
• build close relationships with Unity's internal development and product teams and provide customer feedback and use cases to them
• working with and mentoring more junior developers
• efficiently solve problems, communicate, and educate our clients, both remotely and on-site at their offices help with the scoping of incoming opportunities
• become embedded with external customer teams to develop applications and tools

What we're looking for

• capable of developing and debugging code written in a large multi-threaded C# codebase using Unity
• knowledge how to profile, analyze, and improve performance from low-level limitations to high-level architectural decisions
• fluent in written and spoken English and able to guide customers by clearly communicating ideas and technical knowledge via written reports
• comfortable when it comes to diving into areas outside of their expertise in order to help our customers

You might also have

• experience in the Digital Twins, geospatial, CAD/BIM, large data rendering, photogrammetry, or point cloud domains
• experience in delivering training/technical talks and writing technical articles/documentation
• deep graphics programming knowledge and experience writing shaders
