What We Need
2K is seeking an experienced Senior Researcher to join the Player Sciences & Strategy team. You will play an important role in supporting our Brand Marketing and Creative Services teams by providing player insights and recommendations based on rigorous primary and secondary research and data analysis. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of inspiring and influencing creative development via
Market Research and Consumer Insights. This individual will work cross-functionally with marketing, strategy, and data science teams to ensure that player insights are used to drive innovative marketing campaigns and effective product positioning.
What You’ll Do
- Identify, design, and execute qualitative and quantitative market and player research studies to identify player preferences and behaviors that impact marketing decisions and commercial performance.
- Utilize a variety of research methods to uncover deep emotional insights into player perception, preferences, and motivations and apply these insights to brand development.
- Design surveys, experiments, and other research methodologies to gather consumer insights and measure key performance metrics.
- Work closely with creative teams to ensure research-driven insights are effectively integrated into campaign concepts, messaging, and creative executions. Provide guidance to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
- Translate research findings into actionable recommendations that inform creative development and campaign strategies.
- Collaborate with external research vendors to design and execute studies, and ensure high-quality deliverables are met within agreed timelines and budgets.
- Lead global, tactical and foundational quantitative research to drive marketing and product strategy for our portfolio of titles.
What Will Make You A Great Fit
- B.A. or B.S. in market research, advertising, psychology, social science, or a related field .
- 4+ years of experience in market research or in an advertising agency or related field, with a focus on strategic planning, brand development, and creative strategy.
- Experience conducting consumer research in the media, entertainment, or games industries.
- Experience with survey-based research (e.g., questionnaires, advanced logic, sampling and weighting strategies) and statistical software (SPSS, SAS, R, and/or Python)
- Experience conducting international/cross-cultural research with strong knowledge of market-specific nuances.
- Proven expertise in qualitative methodologies including focus groups, IDIs, Ideations, Dyads, etc.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tell compelling stories that are data-backed, player-centric, and relatable.
- Creative thinking and the ability to translate research insights into actionable strategies.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing client relationships.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $100,000 and $150,000 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
