Senior Research Scientist

The opportunity

We are a small team of artists and researchers developing groundbreaking technology for digital character creation. Our focus is on developing tools accessible to users of all skill levels. We love combining traditional approaches with recent advances in machine learning to assist artists in content creation. We believe in iterating rapidly on our software through close collaboration between the researchers and artists on our team who are constantly addressing new research problems, contributing to the success of digital humans

We are looking for a researcher to join our hardworking team. You will be exploring open-ended issues related to digital humans such as character rigging, simulation, and mesh deformations. You will have access to highly-skilled character artists and animators who can provide data to support your work as well as provide valuable feedback on the practicality of your research.

In this role, you can help drive the state-of-the-art in the quality and fidelity of real-time characters. You’ll also have the opportunity to publish your work in academic conferences and journals, to help build the future.

What you'll be doing

• Research unsolved problems related to the authoring process of human characters
• Apply machine learning methods to develop assisted artistry tools
• Work in close collaboration with artists and other researchers
• Develop data processing tools needed to support your research
• Convert your projects into usable prototypes

What we're looking for

• Experience driving original research
• Proven Understanding of common character rigging and animation techniques
• Background in machine learning and deep learning
• Good communication skills with researchers, engineers, and artists
• PhD or similar experience
