A technical position for a senior programmer working within and for the Quality Assurance in the Research and Development subdiscipline. Practical experience with programming languages is a pre-requisite for the position, and the ideal candidate will have a detailed knowledge of typical AAA QA workflows. The QA Tools Programmer will be expected to work in close conjunction with the full Tools-Programming team to develop and deploy new testing/development tools and automated test solutions to the studio.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate across departments to understand and optimize tool and automation workflows
- Create and deploy automated tests
- Create and deploy new tools as needed for development
- Adapt created tools as needed over the course of development
- Document and troubleshoot tool suite throughout studio
- Provide training modules for use of tools and tests
- Continually seek optimizations, and ways to resolve pain points with tool use
Requirements & Skills:
- A desire to be part of the Naughty Dog Team
- Prior experience creating tools for QA / software development
- Experience in programming languages (C++, Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, C#), Visual Studio, 3D software (e.g. Maya)
- An understanding of QA methodology and best practices
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to share and receive opinions/feedback regarding technical solutions
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy
Bonus Skills:
- A degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or related training)
- Prior experience at a video game studio or publisher
- Working knowledge of PlayStation consoles
