For 30 years we’ve been independently developing and publishing incredible video games at our multiple studios founded by Jason & Chris Kingsley, but Rebellion is more than just games. We have our own film and mo-cap studio, we create board games, publish books, and through 2000AD, publish comics and graphic novels such as the amazing Judge Dredd.
We have an exciting opportunity for a candidate experienced in leading QA teams to advance their career as our new Senior QA Project Lead. The successful candidate will need to leverage their extensive experience in QA to manage the team and a variety of assigned projects.
Your role is to manage the quality of the project and ensure that it is to an industry-leading standard, making sure that the development is in line with the project’s design, and the intended platforms requirements. Your focus is to lead a team of QA Analysts to test games in line with your direction.
This role is based at our studio in Runcorn, offering a creative and relaxed atmosphere where teamwork drives our success. We can provide a relocation package, including moving assistance, temporary accommodation, and full support to ensure a smooth transition to your new environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage, lead and motivate test teams.
- Work collaboratively with Production and other departments to ensure project QA requirements are clearly understood then effectively managed through the project lifecycle.
- Plan, create and execute project QA strategies.
- Plan, create and execute project test plan & cases.
- Delegate test cases to test team directly, clearly and efficiently.
- Perform assessments of projects with development and production teams to identify all areas requiring tests, providing risk assessments, and avoiding problems and bottlenecks in the QA process.
- Proactively solve project issues with the test teams and QA Manager, before they impact the project.
- Actively mentor the QA team while leading by example and being a role model for the QA team.
- Actively maintain morale and create an atmosphere of enthusiasm.
- Update & make sure that your line manager is aware of your project’s status.
- Administer and enforce the quality and consistency of bugs as per the project requirements.
- Monitor and manage the bug databases to ensure the team’s efficiency and productivity.
- Set, monitor and achieve goals through the test team.
- Work closely with external stakeholders as required to support QA activities.
- Undertake regular check-ins with team members, including career dialogues and performance reviews as required.
Requirements

- Excellent knowledge of game testing models.
- Extensive knowledge of bug testing and project tracking software (JIRA, Devtrack).
- Exceptional knowledge of the video game development process.
- An excellent understanding of the 8th and 9th generation of consoles and PC platforms.
