Today, there are over a dozen games and expansions available for purchase: Exploding Kittens, Bears vs Babies, You’ve Got Crabs, Throw Throw Burrito, On a Scale of One to T-Rex, Poetry for Neanderthals A Game of Cat & Mouth, Tacocat Spelled Backwards, A Little Wordy, as well as mobile app games Kitty Letter and Exploding Kittens, one of the top 30 premium games on both iOS and Android.
Exploding Kittens is in the process of completing a full redesign and relaunch of our direct-to consumer ecommerce website. As part of this initiative, we are seeking to hire a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our fast-paced team in a hands-on role. Working with an experienced engineering team, you will drive features and improvements from kick-off to completion in an engineering-led process. At the same time, you will be developing and evolving testing plans to ensure the highest quality experience for our ecommerce customers.
Our ideal is an experienced QA Engineer who process driven, and willing to roll up their sleeves and dive into the day-to-day work that this role requires. This role reports directly to the Senior Director of Engineering.
HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE:
- Oversee all aspects of quality assurance, including establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met
- Establish and evolve formal QA processes, ensuring that the team is using industry-accepted best practices
- Develop and execute test cases, scripts, plans and procedures both manual and automated
- Conduct user acceptance testing and product QA for ongoing deployments
- Define the testing and QA strategy and quality gates; create the formal QA processes, procedures and best practices to ensure efficient and effective testing
WHAT WE NEED:
- 3 plus years of QA engineering experience, or QA management experience; ecommerce and Shopify experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of object oriented, software test automation programming principals, best practices and design patterns
- Experience with technologies such as Kubernetes, CircleCI, Typescript, React.JS, and Node.JS
- Appetite for working in a fast-paced, diverse, and entrepreneurial environment
- Preferably based in Los Angeles (though currently WFH until Oct-2021)
