Senior QA Engineer (Automation) - Freelance
2 years ago
ustwo is looking for a freelance Senior QA Engineer (Automation) to join our New York studio partnering with a high-profile wearables brand. You’ll work with a cross-functional team of developers and designers to build fitness, wellness, and health applications for the Wear OS platform.
YOU WILL BE
- Responsible for building a robust automated test suite, utilizing tools such as Espresso and UI Automator, for new features in development.
- Expected to be a lead participant in testing direction for projects, and assure that the apps being built meet robustness, quality, and security requirements.
- Manually testing new features and functionalities where necessary, including running regressions and smoke test runs
- Working with delivery managers, designers, developers, and tech leads to ensure we're building high-quality, engaging products.
- Client-facing at times, capable of representing ustwo in both technical and non-technical discussions, and able to engage directly with client teams and stakeholders.
YOU ARE
- Highly collaborative, able to work with a tight-knit team where sharing knowledge and experience is second nature but also able to work independently.
- Never afraid to speak your mind, and are exceptionally clear when you do.
- Passionate about learning and experimenting. "Afraid to fail" and "play it safe" aren't in your vocabulary, but you're willing to admit your weaknesses and when you're wrong, in the name of personal and professional growth.
- Naturally motivated and self driven. Your curiosity cannot be quelled, and you're never done learning.
- Driven by (and thrive on) inspiring and bringing out the best in those you work with.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Minimum of 5 years professional QA experience, testing software for different platforms, especially mobile and wearables
- Minimum of 3 years test automation experience
- Experience working within development teams in agile environments such as Scrum / Kanban
- Significant experience automating and testing Android applications
- Experience testing API’s with Postman or an equivalent tool
- Experience with exploratory testing
- Experience with accessibility testing
- The ability to clearly definite and communicate your ideas and findings, both written and verbally
This is a 40-hour/week contract position, with potential to convert to full time, starting asap and running through December 17th and a probable extension through April 2022.
