The Opportunity @ lab42
Lab42 is looking for a Senior Quality Analyst who will work with the Development team and be a key part in upholding and championing the game’s quality daily. Being responsible for testing and reporting on the quality of our variety of game systems; recommending areas where titles could be improved, in addition to maintaining and creating QA documentation where required.
Within this role you will:
- Find and report defects on assigned projects along with validating the bug fixes. Track and maintain the bug database and regularly highlight important issues to the production teams
- Create, maintain, and execute test cases and test plans by analysing core systems, features, content, and documentation and provide clear and concise test reports
- Test and provide constructive feedback on systems, features, and the overall quality of our games
- Ensure that sprint, milestone, and project deliverables are achieved on time through active participation in testing tasks and processes
- Perform regular smoke tests and build tests to convey the build and game status accurately
- Assist in executing the QA test plans by performing thorough testing on assigned titles. This can include art, sound, text, functionality, compliance, performance, documentation, and more
- Co-ordinate and communicate with the different development teams involved in the project
- Work on improving the operational efficiency of the QA team by assessing the current quality assurance practices and incorporating new QA strategies
- Assisting and mentoring other members of the quality assurance team
To be successful you will have:
- 3+ years’ experience in Quality Assurance
- Ideally worked across 3 titles with 1 project from start to finish
- An excellent understanding of database and bug-tracking software (Azure DevOps, JIRA, etc)
· Experience and familiarity with multiple gaming platforms, genre, consoles and their peripherals and 1st party guidelines
· Knowledge of QA methodologies and tools, game development cycle and different milestones involved
· Knowledge and experience working with different game engines like Unreal, Unity, etc
- Experience creating re-usable test cases and test suites
- The ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks and take ownership of assigned areas
- A passion for video games and interactive story-telling
- An innate desire to understand how things work and a willingness to learn
- Looking to join a top-level, creative, and independent team
It would be great if you had, but not essential:
- Experience working with Perforce and/or Visual Studio
- Basic technical proficiency and knowledge of coding and scripting
