The Senior Project Producer is the peak chain of command on a Project. This role entails monitoring the health of the project (quantitatively, qualitatively, performance, and budget), presenting project reports to executives, and being devoted to on time and on budget delivery. The Senior Project Producer is the main point of contact for the project when interfacing with Publishing and/or external partners and is the key leader driving the success of game. The Senior Project Producer reports directly to the Director of Production.

Responsibilities:

  • The main point of contact and single point of accountability for the full production and release cycle of a stellar AAA game
  • Interface directly with publishing, studio leadership, and/or external partners
  • Assemble, lead, and motivate a large team consisting of all aspects of game development; this person sets the example as a leader
  • With the assistance of dev management, generate and update a clear roadmap on how to ship the game on time and on budget
  • Ultimately accountable for a project schedule that can be broken down into internal development cycles and/or contractual milestones, with achievable project objectives
  • Monitor, safeguard, and forecast project budget
  • Guide Senior Production Staff and Senior Dev Management staff to lead their teams and provide the data needed in order to properly monitor the health of the project and drive it to completion
  • Gearbox culture: cultivate an inspiring, positive, and rewarding development culture and promote a healthy work/life balance.
  • Maintain a constant awareness of game status, performance, and trends
  • Mentor and support Senior Production staff and Senior Dev Management staff for individual and team growth

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in Games or at least 3 Shipped Titles from Beginning to End in Production Capacity
  • Willing to travel to other Gearbox Studios on occasion or other relevant conferences, as well as other development studios for the purposes of due diligence.
  • Familiarity or experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence)
  • Experience with “Games as Service” model games strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of development methodologies and team organization strategies
  • Experience being accountable to and managing large financial budgets
  • Worked with or for publishing partners, both in developing and maintaining relationships and also negotiating and executing on contracts
  • You have a strong passion for games and remain up to date/current with the industry
  • You are an enthusiastic and positive person that can motivate others
  • You have a good understanding of how games are made both from a managerial perspective and from a content creation/pipeline perspective
  • You work well with others and desire to grow both individually and with the team
  • You go above and beyond; you are motivated and passionate with individual and team growth goals
  • You love mentoring others in the industry
  • Able to make decisions that are best for the project, even if it is a difficult decision
  • Highly efficient in Microsoft Office suite
