Description
As Release Train Engineer (RTE), your primary responsibility will be to facilitate and improve planning practices to assist the team in delivering value. You will lead and motivate domains and product areas with a focus to ensure good Agile execution practices. You will use your program management / Agile expertise to facilitate, coach, and empower the Frostbite team to provide value.
You will spend your time as RTE for all of the Frostbite development team, but your responsibilities might also include other project management activities not directly related to the RTE role.
You will report to the Frostbite PMO.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and improve Frostbite's planning processes
- Organize and facilitate system demos following every iteration
- Coach the lean-Agile mindset and practices to members of Frostbite across all levels, including scrum masters, Agile team members and business owners
- Help prepare the Frostbite team for Planning and ensure the vision, roadmap and program backlogs are ready
- Assist short- and long-term decision-making by facilitating estimation on team level and rolled up
- Help manage risks, dependencies and resolve impediments
- Support the creatio and improvement of a continuous delivery pipeline by promoting DevOps practices
- Track and communicate value metrics for programs and project and planning metrics, risks and issues
- Coordinate collaboration with other Frostbite teams and game teams around EA
Experience
- 5+ years of project/program management experience in software development
- Experience in project management methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall
- Solid comprehension of Lean-Agile frameworks
- Lead the team by example and roll sleeves up when needed, and know when to say no
- Knowledge to act as a mentor in helping the team understand Agile principles and practices
Bonus
- Certified SAFe release train engineer
- Additional SAFe qualifications
- Experience working as a software engineer
- Experience with distributed development across multiple locations
- Experience working with end-users on a tools or central technology team
- Know how to get your message across at all organizational levels
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and certifications
- Game development experience
- Scrum Master or Agile Coach experience
