SUMMARY OF POSITION
At Pixelberry, we strive to expand the potential of narrative games. As we utilize new technologies in that pursuit, we are searching for a highly innovative and analytical Product Manager to lead a Core technology team and provide the vision for the next generation of narrative games. They will lead the development of a new platform from concept to launch to live operation. The ideal candidate collaborates with all departments to ensure the "what" of the work serves all stakeholders well and the "why" of the work is understood by all. They are highly organized, thoughtful, collaborative, adaptable, and decisive. They are focused on empowering their team and helping them grow. They are a quick learner with a compelling vision for how games should be built. They love experimentation and finding the best product through trial and error. They strongly value team input and building alignment and buy-in so that they can integrate feedback into processes and feature design. In all decisions, they strive to advocate for players and the product.
Our headquarters are in Los Altos, CA but we can accommodate a remote work environment for a candidate from the following states: California, Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, and Washington.
Currently, all Pixelberry staff work remotely with the option to work in-office, if desired.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain an ordered and itemized backlog that takes into consideration player, team, and business requirements
- Gather and synthesize product requirements and user feedback from our players and
stakeholder teams - Define and break apart features according to what they must measurably accomplish
- Communicate product challenges, feature mismatches, and other points of success and
failure transparently to the team and stakeholders - Work closely with engineers and designers to understand challenges, define and
unblock work, and review completed features - Give clear direction and context, establish measurable goals, and provide insight into
competitor and industry trends - Define and prioritize features, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Apply a hypothesis-based analytical approach, conduct experimentation, and apply
learnings - Produce frequent written and verbal reports on product and feature performance
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager or relevant Product experience
- Shipped 2+ successful products or games
- Experience with game development, web development, or back-end technology development
- Stellar written and spoken communication skills; ability to communicate with everyone from developers to C-level stakeholders
- Experience working with external development teams
- Ability to unify and balance the needs of several different stakeholder projects and departments
- Ability to deconstruct competing feature sets based on player feedback, stakeholder needs and understanding of the market landscape
- Able to propose credible and complete features on both a macro and micro level
- Familiarity with Agile and project management software

Compensation Description for Pay Transparency (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $130,000 - $140,000 annually.
Our salary ranges are determined by market data based on position and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum salaries for that position. Where an individual’s pay falls within the range is determined by factors including, but not limited to, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
In some cases, compensation may fall outside of this range depending on factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
