Senior Product Manager, Character Platform

The opportunity
Millions of creators harness Unity to reach billions of players and consumers. We are accelerating the development and investment in tools and features for Artists, with products such as Wētā Digital Tools, Ziva Dynamics, SpeedTree, and more to be announced, to make the entire process of crafting real-time, interactive graphics, content and experiences more intuitive and accessible to creators and artists.
Do you have product management experience and a knowledge of VFX and gaming content pipelines? If yes, consider joining our Professional Artistry team as a Senior Product Manager, where you will drive the strategic direction of tools and services used by professional artists to create digital characters for use in film, advertising, gaming, digital twin and other applications. In this role, you will bring a big picture and whole ecosystem view, while balancing needs and commonalities across multiple services and product lines, influencing and guiding us as we continue to grow.
We will rely on you to deliver artist-facing Ziva products as well as the integration of selected Wētā tools and technologies. You will work closely with engineers, designers, marketers, and other Product Managers to understand the target audience and drive products and systems to support interoperability with open standards while delivering an outstanding user experience.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop Go-to-Market strategies with clear plans, critical metrics, and methods for validating success and risks
- Work with customers and other industry professionals to build product insight and stay up to date with industry trends
- Build and evolve character product roadmap based on customer feedback, industry trends, competitive landscape, and business results
- Collaborate with engineering teams to define solutions to the problems users face, and validate these ideas throughout the development process
- Communicate successes and challenges upwards and outwards throughout the entire product lifecycle
What we’re looking for
- Strong product management skills
- Familiarity with content creation pipelines for visual effects, virtual productions and gaming / real-time productions, ideally related to digital characters, grooming and clothing
- Strong capabilities in collaboration and driving alignment across teams who may have differing goals and priorities. Comfort in communicating your strategy and goals with third-party vendors, partners, and internal teams
- Strong focus on user first, with proven experience in simplifying sophisticated technologies into simple workflows
- Proven track record of product user adoption and business value creation and outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with other product and cross functional teams
You might also have
- Experience navigating major new technology shifts or transitions
- Experience working with existing tools used by 3D artists and/or knowledge of Unity engine, editor and platform
- Deep technical knowledge applicable to cloud content creation
