Senior Product Designer (UI) - Freelance
We are looking for a highly skilled senior product designer to to work collaboratively to evolve, maintain and document the Design System of one of the agency’s key clients. The right candidate will have experience maintaining and evolving pattern libraries, designing components, documenting best practices and creating design systems along with strong experience practising the broad range of activities involved in product design; ideation and facilitation, conceptualisation and validation/testing.
Working alongside a lead and junior designer, this will require a high level of client stakeholder engagement and interaction, so clear communication skills are critical.
Tenure
ASAP until July 2022. Outside IR35.
Location
This role is expected to be fully remote, UK or CET or EET time zones.
Key Skills
Design & Requirements
- Core strength in leading an end-to-end product design process
- Strong digital product design visual skills a must
- Experience maintaining and evolving pattern libraries and creating design systems.
- Confident working in Figma and sketch
- Must have responsive web experience
- Organised and self-motivated and comfortable working independently
- Visualising and prototyping concepts to varying levels of fidelity to demonstrate and validate ideas
- Experience in building design systems, including designing components, documenting best practices and sharing knowledge to others
- A drive to proactively seek feedback to improve their work and an ability to facilitate design critiques for themselves and others.
- Have a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience at a tech or product-driven company and a minimum 1-year experience maintaining a design system.
- Hands-on experience in contributing code to repositories is desired but not essential.

- Experience working with an Agile process
- Working with a cross discipline team of designers, developers and product managers to ensure delivery of high-quality products on time and on budget
- Understand and where appropriate challenge business requirements to champion user needs and accessibility in accordance with product and market strategy
- Maintain awareness and mitigation of project risk
- Engage clients and stakeholders in design solutions that fit their needs
- Understand clients’ design needs and work within those constraints
- Communicate design specifications with other designers and developers; validate and monitor quality output
- Clearly present various stages of interface design development, concepts and ideas to business owners, team members and stakeholders of all levels
- The ability to deal with pressure and can work in a fast-paced environment
