Senior Producer

Build amazing experiences in Halo Infinite , connect players across platforms in Minecraft , unleash your creativity on original IP or think strategy with Magic: The Gathering Arena . SkyBox Labs is a game development studio that works on some of the world’s most iconic games. Our current projects include working as a co-developer on Halo Infinite , projects in the Minecraft Universe , supporting the development of Magic: The Gathering Arena , and original title, Stela . As one of Vancouver’s fastest-growing game studios, since our inception in 2011, SkyBox Labs has evolved from a group of 8 people developing independent projects to a team of over 200 engineers, artists, designers, producers, and more.

Come join us as a Senior Producer to work on original SkyBox Labs IP! Joining the team in an early phase of development, you will be a pivotal leader in the creation of our largest original title ever, and be a key collaborator in the process from early stages through to release and beyond. As a leader, the Producer’s role is to create and execute on the project plan to reach the established goals and milestones. Being the key point of contact with both internal and external stakeholders comes with a lot of excitement and responsibility, and we are looking for someone who is both passionate and experienced in AAA game development to join us on this adventure.

In case there is any confusion based on the number of different ways our industry can view the 'producer' role, we envision this role to be close to project management in nature.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with other key stakeholders such as the Creative Director, Art Director, and Technical Director to establish the project plan and development milestones for a AA/AAA quality game
• Be the primary point of contact with external stakeholders regarding the vision and development plan; building relationships, alignment, and confidence with everyone involved
• Drive, track, and report on progress - including setting priorities, identifying potential challenges, and impressing urgency on others
• Be an active participant in hiring decisions, for both the growing production team as well as the rest of the development team
• Coach, mentor, and take on direct reports for a group of individuals of various disciplines

Qualifications

• A minimum of 6+ years of production experience in games as a producer, project manager, or a related role (however more years of experience is nice-to-have)
• Experience working and shipping multiple games within a core game development team, ideally within a AAA environment
• Proven experience working with publishers, clients, or other external stakeholders
• Honed managerial judgement that has been tested by time and experience
• Demonstrated experience providing people management to engineers, designers, artists, QA, or other game dev team members

In order to keep our employees, candidates and community safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, the majority of our teams are working from home within Canada, with plans to a return in a hybrid capacity in 2022.
