Splitgate is a free to play, fast-paced sci-fi multiplayer shooter that combines the strategic elements of portals with the explosive gameplay of a first person shooter. We quickly became a top trending game on PlayStation, XBOX, and Steam. In our first 6 days, we passed 1M downloads, and hit 2M within the first two weeks. We’re now at 15M+ downloads and growing. After receiving $100M Series A funding with a valuation of $1.5B, we are actively looking to grow our team with the best talent out there to continue the journey of making Splitgate a game that we and the millions of players in our gaming community are proud of.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Art Director and Art Leads to drive visual quality and contribute to production processes and scheduling
- Collaborate directly with Designers, Technical Artists and Engineers to define tools, workflows, technical standards and achieve project design requirements for lighting
- Create style guides, in-engine prototypes, documentation and presentations for emergent lighting systems and features.
- Stays current with and exhibits strong technical understanding of state-of-the-industry and best-of-class game lighting, tools, techniques and workflows and shares findings with the lighting team
- Assume ownership of lighting systems and features include driving development with other art domains.
- Craft lighting schemes for indoor and outdoor environments
- Light game environments in collaboration with environment artists, Art Director, Tech Art, and engineers
- Capture and create skyboxes
- Color grading and post processing work
- Assist with look dev
- Create mood boards to communicate proposed lighting schemes
- Propose lighting related improvements to the work of other artists
- Use lighting to emphasize and establish/clarify location, pathing, combat areas, and other gameplay elements
- Respect and follow an established design theme for a sequence or project
- Ensure that the lighting fits within game performance standards
Qualifications:
- Experience creating lighting content for multiple shipped AAA projects
- Strong aesthetic and technical lighting skills/knowledge
- Strong and proven experience lighting in a game engine (Unreal, Snowdrop, Unity, etc.) with Physically Based Rendering pipelines
- Experience creating and presenting pre-production materials (style guides, concepts, mood boards), lighting prototypes and tools and workflow documentation
- Experience identifying innovative tools and technology for production and defining efficient workflows/pipelines
- Experience defining and/or creating debug and optimization processes
- Strong understanding of lighting foundations including visual composition, light and color theory, photographic principles and storytelling techniques
- Experience in real-time, dynamic lighting ideally within video games development
- Experience generating grading and LUTS (look up tables), using Davinci Resolve from Blackmagic
- An amazing portfolio showing artistic flare and solid technical credentials
- Knowledgeable with real-time lighting packages and giving ideas in lighting workflow and rendering improvements
- Identify lighting issues and apply fixes on lightmapped and vertex lit geometries
- Experience with portrait lighting, stage lighting, or architectural lighting
- Knowledge of colour theory, composition, light, and form
- Great communicator and patient collaborator
