Blizzard is looking for a highly motivated and talented Character Concept Artist to join a new Warcraft mobile project. In this role, you will bring all forms of characters and creatures to life and push our project’s visual fidelity.
Importantly, this will include giving direction on art assets produced by external partners, thus previous experience working with external artists is highly desired. You should have an ability to provide clear paint-over and verbal feedback to others, both internally and externally.

Responsibilities
- Help define and maintain the artistic vision as set forth by the art director & leads
- Ability to explore a wide variety of ideas that can push Warcraft characters into a stylized look
- Creating a diverse and wide range of alluring and inspiring character & creature concepts that draw players into a world while helping 3D character artists model and texture them
- Partnering with other artists, designers, and engineers to collaborate on creatively complex assignments to develop an inspiring art vision for this new Blizzard experience
- Ability to collaborate with external partners and own the quality control over incoming art assets, by providing paint overs and feedback, to deliver quality assets to the development team
- Create benchmark art assets and best practices guides
Requirements
- Creating concept artwork for animation, film and/or video games
- An exceptional understanding of human and creature anatomy and knowing how to stylize your art to create compelling, interesting, memorable and diverse characters that fit the specific needs of the project
- Self-motivated, collaborative, excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Positive attitude and an ability to receive and provide objective feedback
- Portfolio that demonstrates a wide range of techniques from classical to stylized that shows a deep understanding of anatomy, color theory and storytelling as it relates to characters
- Understanding of the distinctive Blizzard Entertainment visual style and a passion to push it to the next level
Pluses:
- Having experience working with 3D modeling or sculpting programs like Zbrush to quickly get your ideas generated
- Experience working with outsourcing and/ or teams
