Platform Engineer (mid or senior level)

PLATFORM ENGINEER

As a platform engineer, you will build and maintain Super Evil Megacorp’s backend services that power our games and tools while operating its infrastructure. You'll play an important role in creating one of the most sophisticated game platforms that powers tens of thousands of simultaneous game players, database, analytics, tools and other products and services.

This position is focused on the development and integration of our backend platform for our games. You'll help build core components and integrate with 3rd party solutions such as databases, Pub/Sub and PlayFab. From building services that support the Platform's use-cases to creating epic matchmaking algorithms, you'll work with a team of engineers to plan, develop, and maintain distributed systems that perform well on a large scale.

We are open to mid level or senior level for this role.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Design, Product/Project Management, and other stakeholders to effectively build and maintain features that addresses the product needs
• Develop solutions with scalability, performance and reliability as key non-functional requirements
• Collaborate on technical discussions/reviews with a focus on knowledge sharing and problem solving
• Monitor the production health of our backend services with a positive continuous improvement mindset

Requirements:

• Extensive experience as a backend engineer with Golang, Java or C#
• Good knowledge of Golang
• Hands on experience with cloud native systems and providers (AWS, GCP or Microsoft Azure)
• Hands on experience working with at least some of: large scale distributed systems, highly available architectures, game live operations, performance testing
• Pragmatic approach to container ecosystems, including Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm

Pluses:

• Experience with games platforms as a service (PlayFab, Accelbyte, Pragma)
• Experience with large scale databases implementations and trade offs

The base annual salary range for this position in the United States is $60-120K. The base salary is just one part of the overall compensation package. This base pay range is for the United States only and does not apply to international locations. The range for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by location and additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
