We are looking for an experienced Environment Tech Artist to combine their technical skills, artistic eye, and passion for games and storytelling to help create immersive worlds and push the quality and realism of next-gen environment art. You will work in a highly collaborative environment with talented and hardworking artists and TDs to build an efficient environment pipeline to deliver a visually stunning game experience!
Responsibilities:
- Support the technical feature and workflow needs of the environment art pipeline, both in DCC and in game
- Assist, guide and facilitate efficient environment content production by creating user-friendly tools
- Build/Maintain a feature-rich photogrammetry scanning pipeline to streamline acquisition post processes at volume
- Help ensure assets and worlds are performant and optimized
- Collaborate closely with Environment Art Lead, Scan Lead, as well as other Tech Artists to research and implement robust solutions required to realize high quality, realistic game worlds
- Work with IT and Tools Programmers to deploy automation processes
- Incorporate third-party toolsets into environment pipeline
- As needed, help create assets/contents that require technical expertise
- Create/Maintain workflow, tools usage and best practice documentations
Requirements & Skills:
- (Required) 4+ years of professional experience in game or vfx industry as a tech artist or pipeline builder
- (Required) Strong Python experience in the areas of tools, UI (e.g., PyQt), and automation
- (Required) Maya/3DS Max/Blender knowledge in areas of modeling, texturing, and scripting
- (Preferred) Unreal experience (Blueprints, Material Graph, Editor Utility Widget, Slate UI, etc)
- (Preferred) Experience with Substance tool suite as power user (and ideally developer)
- (Preferred) Working C++ knowledge – ability to build/maintain plugins that extend application features via provided SDK
- (Preferred) Familiarity with OpenMaya API (Python, C++)
- (Preferred) Degree in computer art and/or related technical field
- (Bonus) Experience with photogrammetry and scan post processing
- (Bonus) Houdini knowledge and procedural workflow experience
- (Bonus) Familiarity with hard surface rigging principles

TNM considers a number of factors when determining each role's base pay range, including industry benchmarks, location, experience, and other job specific skills. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for other incentive compensation including equity and profit share. The estimated base pay range for this role is U.S. only and not applicable for locations outside of the U.S.
TNM offers competitive and comprehensive benefits that include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, unlimited PTO, supplemental life and disability, and more. Eligibility to participate in these benefits may vary for part-time or temporary employees.
The estimated base pay range for this role is: $117,000 - $156,000
